Hosted by legendary comedian and “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, the series explores our obsession with all things automotive. From classic cars to supercars and everything in-between, Jay is hitting the road to discover the most exciting, weird and wonderful vehicles ever made and meet the passionate people behind their wheels. Each one-hour themed episode features a mix of stunts, challenges, reviews, and celebrity interviews that showcases the colorful history of the automobile. Whether he’s exploring the story of an iconic brand, road-testing the newest super car, or investigating the latest automotive innovations, there is no wheel Jay won’t get behind to tell the story of our love affair with the car.
About Jay Leno: Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist…it’s no wonder that Jay Leno is widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business.”

So happy to finally get footage of the car starting! Usually we just cut from inside the garage straight to it running on the road, but I wanna hear it start up. Please do that more often! :)

I would like to add my voice to the chorus calling for Jay to continue with the "pandemic edition" style of presentations. They are superior in almost every way in conveying his knowledge and enthusiam for these beautiful machines. I know that Jay wants to provide jobs for all his crew members, so he can find work for them in other aspects of his productions. I am also sensitive to the fact that the "one man band" method of filming is harder on Jay, so I would not begrudge him working with a small crew (camera operator, camera assistant, sound technician, lighting technician, lighting assistant/electrician, and grip) but nobody else should be involved to get in the way. Oh, and please do not bring back "guests" -- the intimate, one-on-one feeling should be preserved. Thank you for considering my suggestions.

I love the vintage models in Jay's collection most of all, and it's especially nice to see them all being driven regularly and used as their makers intended. There's something so sad about seeing cars just left static for years in musiums. It always makes me happy when I see the really old ones on the road, where they belong.

I remarked to a friend that leno on youtube seamed to have few if any interruptions. This episode must be a transition of some kind. The program ( I didn't count how many) had what seemed like an excessive amount of commercials. More than one at each break.

I wonder whether you have any Belgian cars. For instance, the big Minerva's from the 20's and 30's like this 1931 example: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2e/1931_Minerva_8_AL_Rollston_Convertible_Sedan.JPG/1280px-1931_Minerva_8_AL_Rollston_Convertible_Sedan.JPG

Fantastic. Probably the most high mileage running Dusenburg today. I love that Jay puts the lights on the rear. It may not be period correct but it's a surefire sign that this car gets driven on the road.

Yes, those are fine cars and they need to be kept alive. Speaking of quality and features, the dome light in this car is likely a quality metal base, chrome plated, rebuildable and hasa real glass lens vs. all plastic like they started with in the 1960's. Love the interior work on this one...love the rumble seat too. I have ridden in them before, they are a special treat.

An amazing car, I had a valve hanging up in an old flat head ford V8, I put some AFT in the gas and drove it around, came back home and popped the hood and could still hear it, looked at my dad and said I guess it's not going to free up, and as I said it the valve came loose. Those old cars were sure something, the thought that went into everything is something we don't see anymore.

'When you don't know the tensile strength of metal...' Our 28 foot 60's Fiberglass Pacemaker was 'new' tech, they weren't sure how thick to make the shell, so they went over board and produced a four ton monster with 3/4" to one inch thick hull sections. It never did crack, even with huge twin Mercury V-8's. There's something to be said for 'old school' overbuilds...

Great video! Nice to have the crew back, huh? Hey, I recently picked up an interesting piece - hope maybe you know something about it. It's an original hand drawn magazine ad, "He drives a Duesenberg." It features what looks like a drawing of Howard Hughes. There are a half dozen or so ad designs like this that I've seen in print, but as far as I was able to find out, this ad never ran in any papers/magazines. Have you ever run across anything like this?

That was typical of Duesenberg advertising. They never showed the product. I seem to recall that Japanese carmaker Nissan tried the same approach with their Infiniti model. Didn't work out very well.

So Jay I have a question: If this Dusenberg had the most powerful V8 at that time, why does everyone say the Ford flat-head V8 was the fastest, that's why Clyde Barrow of Bonney & Clyde preferred them. He said the Ford V8 was the most powerful? Or maybe he couldn't find any Duesies in hat part of the country to steal! I must say that a twin cam 4valve/cyc should blow the doors off the Ford FH V8!

44 hours to adjust the valves and it had to be done every 10,000 miles. I'm not sure where I heard that. Maybe on a Jay Leno video? What would concern me about a car like this is parts and someone to work on it. Fortunately Jay is networked to care for these cars. I wonder how they were serviced even when new with so few of them around even back then. When I was a kid in the 50s and 60s I used to dream about a Duesenberg and driving it. I got to sit behind the wheel of one once. That's about it.

Ok... Let say I believe in the "Creation of Man by God". Exactly WHEN were we created? Every thing has its "Time". A time to be born, a time to live, and the time to die. Exactly WHEN were we created by God? 20,000 years ago? 25,000 years? The " lost " chapters ( Found by a goat herder, in a cave) That formed the Bible were carbon dated back to 25,000 to 30,000 years ago. Were "WE" created at that time? (Not all of those scrolls were included in the bible) We know scientifically that humans existed in groups like tribes and family's long before 25,000 to 30,000 ago. Time doesn't lie, it is as it is. I do believe I GOD, I'm not so sure about his "Son". I "believe" the the "Man" we call "Christ" Was a good man that tried to spread the "FAITH" in God. But Christ was a MAN. He was born, lived and was hung on a cross by the Romans. It's all up to you. Faith and religion is your choice. The "Arch" angels questioned God about why he granted humans free choice. The angels were cast out of heaven after a great War. They ended up in "Hell". Do you believe that? As I said It's all up to you. Blessings on all. T

I had a 1974 monte Carlo when i was 16 and that was the longest car i have driven and that had a wheel base of 116 inches. Can't believe that Duesenberg is almost 4 feet longer. Other than some long four door cars built in the sixties and seventies , the monte Carlo was a big car.

Really nice proportions on a huge 3 window coupe - that's not easy. The blackwalls really help. But the extravagance of it to have sold in 1931 - hard to imagine if you weren't a film star. Kinetic art work - great descriptor.
